iOS/Android: Keeping everyone in the loop on a group trip isn’t easy, but Prava gives you one place to plan your travel, activities, and everything else, and even gives you a place to share photos, events, and ideas while you’re on your trip.
I gave Prava a spin by planning a fictional trip to Japan in the spring of next year. You start by setting an itinerary, which everyone on the trip can see, as long as they’re all using the app. Once the trip is created and shared with everyone else, everyone can see we are doing what, and when there’ll be free time. You can also add notes about the trip, including places to visit or eat at, or even just personal notes, similar to how you might keep a travel journal. Prava also allows you to see recently added trips from other users if you need vacation inspiration. However, when I tried to specifically search for “Japan” no results were returned, likely because the app is new and no one is using it yet.
Prava can help you stay organized during the trip, too. Anyone in the group can share photos, which makes it way easier to get a copy of that great shot your friend took. You can also share your location and message within the app, making it easier to meet up. Tracking expenses is another feature in Prava, but right now it looks like they only have 3 currencies (USD, British Pound, Indian Rupee) so you’ll most likely have to do the conversions yourself. Overall, the app can be useful if you get everyone else to install it, but it’s still new and has some kinks to work out. It’s promising though, if you’re planning a group trip and need a little help keeping everyone on the same page.
